From a Ohio newspaper we learn the sad story of a young boy's ashes found in a wooded area still in the urn:
"BELLVILLE, Ohio — Richland County
Sheriff's deputies have a mystery on their hands, as they look for the
owner of a brass urn believed to contain the ashes of an 11-year-old
child."
The name Casey Shaun is etched on the top of the urn, with a birth date of 1986, and date of death as 1998. Investigators are hoping to find relatives of this young boy

Followed the link, but the story was not on the page. Must have dropped off for more current stories.
ReplyDeleteSo, what happened with this story? It first posted last Nov. and they were going to wait 6 weeks to open it....don't leave us hanging here!! I guess I should Google and see what else there is about it. I shared it without realizing the gap in the dates and someone who read it is angry about the urn being disturbed! I'd appreciate a reply :)
ReplyDeleteGrammakaarin the story is there. I just clicked on the link. Are you sure you didn't click on the image credit link by mistake? You have to click on the link for the story.
ReplyDeleteDorothy sorry but I have no more info than what was in the story. I'm curious too!
(The link worked for me.) Hope they find the family!
ReplyDeleteIf the urn hasn't been opened, how do they know the remains are human? Could be a beloved pet that loved to roam in the woods.
ReplyDeleteI Googled it, but couldn't find anything other than the Nov. 21, 2016 articles. There is a private tree on ancestry that has a Casey Shawn, born 1986 in OH. I messaged the person to see if they knew anything about this, if he died in 1998 etc.
ReplyDeleteFawn - good find. Please let us know if you get a response!
