My ancestors fought in the War of 1812 but on the British side. Stephen Peer the brother of my 4th great-grandfather was killed at the Battle of Chippewa. What about your War of 1812 ancestors - do you know their stories?

Hi Lorene,
My 4th great-grandfather was working in Buffalo when the war started. He was in a militia unit (USA) and was killed, probably by Indians, in 1813 at the beginning of the Battle of Beaver Dams. He left a wife and six children.
