Daniel Walker was a farmer in Mosa Township, Middlesex County Ontario. It looks like Daniel was borrowing $555.00 from Alexander Lucas who was in Brooke Township, Lambton County.
Note this is is a Chattle Mortgage and not a Mortgage for property like most of us are are familiar with. A Chattle Mortgage is generally when you secure a loan using things that can be moved around. This gives us a fantastic look into the lives of our ancestors as it shows us what they owned and what they valued.
