Send an American WW2 Soldier's Dog Tag Home

Alex from Germany has found another WW2 American Soldier's Dog Tag. You might remember Alex from the Thomas James Lilliard Dog Tag.

With the amazing help of my readers, Thomas Lilliard's family was found and the dog tag returned to them. Now Alex wants our help to find the family of Donald G. Watts whose dog tag photo and information is below. Let's send Donald's dog tag home!

You can comment here on this blog post with information you find, but if concerns individuals who may be living, please send it to me privately at olivetreegenealogyATgmail.com (replace AT with @)

USA Federal Census: Year: 1930; Census Place: Winston-Salem, Forsyth, North Carolina; Roll: 1690; Page: 4B; Enumeration District: 57; Image: 303.0.
Claude A. Watts (35) living with wife Eulah (29) and two sons Claud A. (11) and Donald G. (5) as lodgers with Christian A Weber and family in Winston Salem. Claude is a repairer in a poolroom, Eulah is housekeeper at a private family.

This would make Donalds birthyear abt 1925

I found Donald this morning and spoke to him on the phone -- he was lovely! I've sent his contact information along to Alex so I assume the dog tags will be back with Donald soon :).

I suppose it's possible my comment early this morning did not make it through but I located Donald. I spoke to him on the phone this morning and put him in contact with Alex. The dog tags should be on their way to him very soon :).

That is Donald G. Watts from Winston-Salem, NC. He is my grandfather and, yes, he is still alive.

Great blog you've got here!
