40 Year Photographic Story of One Couple 1900-1942

Christmas Portrait of One Couple 1900-1942
This is such a beautiful yet sad set of photographs. Richard and Anna Wagner took their own portraits every Christmas Eve, from the year they were married in 1900 until a year before Richard’s death in 1943.

The photos were sent out as Christmas cards to friends and family. Nothing more needs to be said.

You can view the photos at This Couple Takes Their Christmas Portrait for 40 Years From 1900 – 1942

Thanks to my friend J.D. Thomas of Accessible Archives for posting this story on Facebook

I also discovered that the full set of photos is available on Amazon.com for less than $14.00 as a hardcover book  Deutsche Weihnacht: Ein Familienalbum, 1900-1945 (German Edition)

Wouldn't I love to have this for my ancestors, sad times and all!
